Born in Minneapolis, raised in the Bay Area, Ned McCormick is an Engineer, Multi-Instrumentalist and Playback Technician. Starting at age 4 with piano, Ned has since picked up Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Ukulele and various Dum Machines and Midi Controllers. He began producing music at Ex’pression College of Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA, under the name The Chillapotamus, working with fellow student Ekzakt on Ukulele and Acoustic Guitar driven Hip Hop. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Sound Arts, Ned moved to Los Angeles and began an internship at Conway Recording Studios in Hollywood, getting to work around Daft Punk, Beyonce, The-Dream and other major artists. Upon completion of his internship, Ned moved to the Audio Department of Center Staging in Burbank, eventually becoming Lead Engineer and mixing prestigious artists such as The Rickey Minor Band (American Idol), Ray Chew and The Crew (Dancing With The Stars), A$AP Rocky, Anthony Hamilton, 2NE1 and many others. Ned also was Head Engineer of Boiler Room – Los Angeles, running sound for a live concert and internet broadcast simultaneously off of a small 12-channel mixer. During this time, Ned joined the Electronic Music Production group Kill The Computer, producing multiple albums including Luck & Lana Kill The Computer featuring Luckyiam of Living Legends and Lana Shea. After leaving Kill The Computer and Center Staging, Ned joined Electronic Creatives and began his career as a touring Playback Technician, a title he currently holds.
