Electronic Creatives is looking for fluent Ableton Live users who are serious about a career as a music programmer or playback operator.
With an increase in interest and demand, we are looking to expand and grow our team. MD’s, backline techs, Ableton Live nerds, or music school grads willing to invest in themselves and their future may find this program a perfect fit.
Music playback is a crucial position on any tour, and professionals can be among the highest paid. CEO Laura Escudé toured with artists like Kanye West, Miguel, Iggy Azalea, and has designed shows for Herbie Hancock, Porter Robinson, Bon Iver, and more.
Her team of personally-trained programmers have toured with performers like Logic, The Weeknd, Kid Cudi, Charli XCX, Harry Styles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vic Mensa, Pentatonix and many more.
Being trained by Laura and EC gave me an elite level of insight into what it means to be the best in the field. Since completing my training and being put on the road, I’ve seen the world through music, and gained more confidence in my abilities than I thought was possible, all while knowing EC always had my back.
– Ned McCormick (Pentatonix, Iggy Azalea, Kid Cudi)
(weeks 1 & 2)
In this fast-paced first phase, you'll get a deep dive into modern music technology. You will become intimately familiar with our gear, learn software techniques for performance programming, and come to understand the scenarios that come with this job and lifestyle.
Here’s where we put proficiency into practice. We’ll be working with artists ready to take their live show to the next level. We’ll run rehearsals, build the tech, program it, and perform it. Work with real artist sessions, learn how to juggle the requests that come your way and manage expectations.
In the final stage of training, we'll regroup to reflect on the experience thus far and learn from your peers. You’ll receive insight from EC Squad members about their experiences working with artists like Kanye West, The Weeknd, Drake and many more. Learn the etiquette and unspoken expectations of touring life.
Upon completion of the course, your knowledge will be tested to see if you’re fit to be hired as a Music Programmer / Operator. If so, you will receive the Electronic Creatives Music Programmer Certification and will be considered for a position on future shows.
