AJ Ramirez is a music producer, musician, engineer, and designer based in Los Angeles, CA. He serves as Lead Production Tech and Engineer for Electronic Creatives, acting as the internal head of production design as well as actively gigging as an engineer.
With a background in both music and visual arts, AJ got his start gigging in bands around Austin, TX while working in design and art direction. Having grown up in the home recording studio and in jazz and rock bands, he wound up in Valencia, Spain where he studied at Berklee College of Music, thereafter coming to LA.
Since then he has worked as a freelance producer, audio and playback engineer, show designer, studio tech, etc. He continues to write music with collaborators, produce other artists, and has been worked on projects as a composer and sound designer. He occasionally joins touring acts on the road and one-offs, and has been lately working in the experimental theatre space. While at home in LA he also co-manages Multihouse Studios, a multi-use arts and music space in DTLA.
He joined Electronic Creatives in 2017 heading the production department. You can find him rolling around LA running rehearsals and shows, building rigs, designing sessions, recording, and trying to write bops. Lately he has worked with artists such as Kid Cudi, Harry Styles, Vic Mensa, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Reggie Watts, The Naked and Famous, AlunaGeorge, Cory Henry and others.
