Laura Escudé – CEO/Founder

Laura founded EC in 2008 and has spent the past decade working with the biggest names around. She lives and breathes music and technology and is constantly pushing the boundaries of live music performance.

From the being the world’s first Ableton Live Certified Trainer to being the first to implement it in some of the biggest shows all over the globe, she focuses her pioneering spirit on empowering others to not only follow in her footsteps, but to forge their own path, ultimately building a community of professionals around the expertise and work ethic that precipitated her success.


Shoshana Diamond – Bookkeeper

Shoshana handles all the bookkeeping, A/R, A/P and financial tracking for EC. The fun stuff!

She works closely with tour and business managers to make sure the money keeps rolling in and out, and that the books are clean and tidy. She has spent the last decade managing financials for creative studios in NYC, London and LA. She has been a multi-year member of the rapidly growing EC team.

Shoshana loves the challenges that come with working for entrepreneurs and artists as she is one herself. A true eclectic, she attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC and is a certified teacher of the 5Rhythms™ Movement Practice at home when she is not taking care of her two little boys.


AJ Ramirez – Lead Production Tech

AJ is a producer/engineer, musician, and show programmer. With a background in music and visual arts, AJ got his start gigging on guitar around Austin while working in art direction. He wound up in Valencia, Spain where he studied at Berklee College of Music, thereafter coming to LA.

He joined EC in 2017 when it was still just a few people, and sought to help grow it into the team is is today. From actively gigging and touring, to heading production design on all EC’s rigs and internal technical structure, to assisting in branding and content creation, he is a proud core member of this growing community.

While at home in LA he also co-manages Multihouse Studios, a multi-use arts and music space in DTLA. He continues to write music and produce artists, and has also worked on projects involving 3D audio in theatre and cinema. In Summer 2019, he joined Ariana Grande on the road for the Sweetener World Tour.


Greg Somerville – Production Tech / Social Coordinator

Greg is a production tech and social coordinator for EC, and a soundwriting DJ and producer from Manhattan, NY.

Greg wears many hats: he builds and maintains rigs, builds live sessions for artists, researches and implements new tech, and offers insight as a production consultant. He has worked with AlunaGeorge, Reggie Watts, John Tejada, G-Flip, Kevin Olusola, and Rae Sremmurd, and has worked gigs partnered with MixMag LA, Dirtybird Records, Apogee, and Antares.

A music production fanatic, he is often found scouring the internet for advances in the analog/digital realms. He DJs and produces under the alias GES, and has performed in Amsterdam, NYC, NJ, Norway, Spain, and LA. He also produces music for sync, recently having his music featured on HBO's "Problem Areas".


Miles Minkin – Assistant Production Tech

Miles Minkin is a music producer and composer based in Los Angeles, CA. He does video production, IT, and graphics for EC, along with research, implementation, and maintenance of new technologies and internal processes. He also conceives and develops new visual media for EC’s education and outreach efforts.

Growing up in a music-centric family in Marin County, CA, Miles was exposed to live music at a very young age and played guitar in several different bands. After graduating from Marin School of the Arts, he moved to Los Angeles and attended ICON Collective where he met Laura Escudé.

Miles continues to pursue his passion for creating music and visual experiences for audiences, while helping others achieve their own visions through music.


Royce Whittaker – Playback Engineer

Royce is multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer and producer based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Royce grew up in a studio environment and began touring as a guitarist at the age of 17 with various acts ranging from pop to metal. Since 2017, Royce has been actively touring as a playback engineer as part of the Electronic Creatives team with artists including Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Kesha, Meek Mill, Lil Wayne, Iggy Azalea and more.

In addition to working as a playback engineer, Royce also tours with Canadian pop band, Mariana's Trench playing guitar, keys, and singing background vocals. When he's not touring, Royce keeps busy writing, recording, and producing with his indie pop band, Jupiter Winter. Royce has a passion for innovative pop music and helping artists realize their vision through his expertise and unique skill set.


Jaron Lamot – Playback Engineer

Also known as "Huggy," Jaron is a Grammy and AMA nominated mix engineer, producer, playback tech, and DJ from Pittsburgh. He has elevated and mentored some of the most successful artists in hip hop/pop including Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller.

Huggy currently resides in LA where he collaborates with other singers, songwriters and musicians to mix & produce projects for various formats and releases. He is able to adapt in any situation, and his high technological expertise paired with genuine personality makes him with one of the best in the game. 

Huggy joined EC in 2018 and began touring with legendary rap artist Lil Wayne. Since then, he has quickly become a sought after playback tech, having now toured with Big Sean, Rita Ora and Logic. He believes playback is the ultimate job for himself, as it combines the passions, skills, and expertise he acquired and crafted over the last 20 years.


Ned McCormick – Playback Engineer

Ned was born in Minneapolis and raised in the Bay Area. Since learning piano at age 4, Ned has picked up guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele and various drum machines and MIDI controllers. He began producing music at Ex’pression College of Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA.

After graduation, he moved to LA and began interning at Conway Recording Studios, getting to work around Daft Punk, Beyonce, The-Dream and others. He then moved to the Audio Department of Center Staging, became Lead Engineer and mixed artists such as The Rickey Minor Band (American Idol), Ray Chew and The Crew (Dancing With The Stars), A$AP Rocky, Anthony Hamilton, 2NE1 and others.

He has also been the Head Engineer of Boiler Room LA, running sound for live concert and internet broadcast simultaneously. During this time, Ned joined the production group Kill The Computer, producing multiple albums including Luck & Lana Kill The Computer featuring Luckyiam of Living Legends and Lana Shea. Ned joined Electronic Creatives in 2016 and began his career touring with artists such as Kid Cudi, Pentatonix and Iggy Azalea, and others.


Timo Preece – Playback Engineer

Timo Preece is an audio technology specialist, sound designer, music programmer, playback engineer, multi-media consultant, electronic musician and performer.

From conceptualizing, building and operating cutting-edge setups for audio visual performance to analyzing and configuring solutions for composition, production and technology integration, Timo has worked with a wide variety of sound enthusiasts, companies and well-known artists including Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Camila Cabello, Beats Antique, Electronic Creatives, Rob Garza, BassNectar and DJ Shadow. 

One of the first Ableton Live Certified Trainers and AVID Protools Expert, Preece is a skilled educator who integrates real world experience and leading-edge techniques in his teaching approach. After serving as a course director for sound arts at Ex’pression College and an audio technology instructor at Foothill College and Pyramind, Timo currently teaches Electronic Synthesizer Techniques and Audio Technology Performance courses at the USC Thornton School of Music.


Dan Marcellus – Playback Engineer

Dan is a drummer, audio engineer, and Ableton Live programmer and controllerist. He attended the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University where he studied closely with jazz legends, including Gary Thomas (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin).

Dan has worked and toured with with Harry Styles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blood Orange, Chet Faker (aka Nick Murphy), Zayn, Iggy Azalea and Lo Moon, Lo Fang, Grace Woodroofe (R.W. Grace), Ray Little and Future People.

Dan has also produced, recorded and written for advertisements, TV, film and several artists including Ray Little, Grace Woodroofe (R.W. Gace) and Future People. He has taught privately for many years and maintains a full drum/Ableton Live teaching studio in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles.


Eric White– Playback Engineer

Eric, AKA PNDA has been touring as The Weeknd's programmer / DJ for several years. He is also the trap drumming DJ known for his his opening slots on The Weeknd’s The Madness Tour, Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour, and The Weeknd Asia tour from 2016-2018.

In addition to making his mark as the only drumming DJ out there, PNDA paves the way for drummers and DJs alike to a whole new paradigm. He has teamed up with Flosstradamus in live remixes, and remains an active producer while serving as playback operator for The Weeknd.


Lucas Sader – Playback Engineer

Lucas Sader is a guitarist, musical director and programmer. Since moving to Los Angeles, Lucas has gone on to work with artists such as John Legend, Martin Garrix, Pentatonix, Will Smith, D.R.A.M, TLC, Starley, G-Eazy, Njomza and Willow Smith, among others. Lucas has also appeared on TV shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Today Show, Conan O'Brien Show, Good Morning America and Revolt TV.

Lucas also works as a studio musician, receiving a Grammy nomination for for his work on Ledisi’s album “Let Love Rule” and has composed music for Syfy and Honda.


Chase Dobson– Playback Engineer

Musician, engineer and programmer Chase Dobson has spent the better part of the past 8 years designing, programming and operating playback systems for artists as diverse as Logic, Tycho, M83, Tegan and Sara, Charli XCX and Owl City, and Rufus Du Sol.

While not on the road, Dobson produces mixes and masters his own collaborative endeavor Neon Cities and solo project Cellar Graves, develops sample content for (in conjunction with Carma Studios) and offers mixing and mastering services out of his studio space in Denver, CO.


Chris Formanek – Playback Engineer

Chris is an engineer, programmer and software designer based in Los Angeles, California originally from Hawaii.

He is experienced in operating playback on tour, having built many show rigs and toured on-and-off for several years with artists such as Flume, Vic Mensa, Vince Staples, Rae Sremmurd, Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Joey Bada$$, and Songland. He has also built numerous max devices for integrating hardware and software for advanced playback control.

He remains a central figure in the EC community in Southern California, and is known for his timeless piece of advice for his peers: “don’t get lost in the sauce.”


Scott Fairbrother – Playback Engineer

A Canadian transplant via the UK, Scott cut his teeth on the London music scene as a session musician in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. During this time, he toured with the likes of Rod Stewart, Andy Fletcher (Depeche Mode), and Whitey, the latter signing a deal with Dim Mak which saw the whole band pack up to make LA their home-base. After a few world tours, the band separated and Scott found himself on the other side of the curtain working with artists such as LCD Soundsystem, Tycho, Little Dragon, and The Naked and Famous.

Scott has most recently worked with EC clients Silversun Pickups and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s.  He continues to write and record as one half of the project AdamandEvil, and his songwriting credits include placements on TV shows House and the OC, and legendary video game Grand Theft Auto IV.


Jimmy McDonald – Playback Engineer

Jimmy is a Synthesist, Drummer and show programmer originally from New Zealand now based in Los Angeles.

Jimmy started touring in 2013 after getting the gig with Lorde as playback engineer and keyboard player which lead to many notable performances including the Grammy’s, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, Jools Holland as well as headlining slots at festivals such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza & Bonnaroo.

After finishing the Melodrama World Tour at the end of 2018 he joined Nickelodeon star Jojo Siwa as playback engineer for her 2019 D.R.E.A.M tour.

Andre Mohring – Playback Engineer

Andre is a drummer, guitarist, producer, playback engineer and music technology enthusiast from Minneapolis, MN. His passion for performance and live production has lead him to dedicate his career to the creation, development, and execution of modern live music - both on and off the stage. 

Andre graduated with a degree in engineering and music technology from Northwestern University, and has since found his home in LA. Andre has spent the majority of 2019 touring with Israeli pop artist Dennis Lloyd as well as indie rock artist Modern Love Child. When not on the road, Andre dedicates much of his time to writing, producing and performing with his hard-hitting pop duo, Two Neighbors. 

Andre’s broad range of professional experiences both inside and outside the music industry allow him to adapt to and work effectively in a wide variety of scenarios. He is consistently inspired by the work ethic, technical mastery, and creative spirit of the EC team.

Mikey Millions Phillips – Playback Engineer

Mikey Phillips is a multi-talented musician and entrepreneur. His work includes live and studio drumming, music production, sound recording and mixing for recording artists and sound mixing for films.  Mikey’s 15 year career has afforded him experiences ranging from being in the studio with A-list artists to traveling around the world.

Born and raised in Miami, FL, Mikey’s interest in music began at age 4, when his parents enrolled him in classical piano lessons. Through the years, he’d play the guitar, saxophone, baritone and ultimately land on the drums. In his early teens, being interested in multiple genres of music such as jazz, gospel, R&B, Hip Hop and Latin, Mikey began trying his hand at music composition.

Mikey earned a degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University. This, along with his curiosity in music business, led him to move to Atlanta where he began his professional career. Starting as an intern and ending up as the Musical Director for Janelle Monae, Mikey’s path was an incredible journey. His list of work includes artists such as Big Boi of Outkast, Austin Mahone, Ciara, Jagged Edge, Lil Jon, TLC, Lloyd, 112, and many more.

Mikey’s most recent accomplishment is being the musical director and drummer for the 2018 Janelle Monae Dirty Computer Tour. Being a lover of all thing creative, Mikey is dedicated to pushing boundaries in music, and will continue to leave his mark wherever he goes.
